Rifle tournament

Evans and Lakeside High Schools' JROTC shooting teams will be participating in the inaugural American Legion Sporter Class Rifle Tournament on Dec. 20. The event will begin at noon at American Legion Post 63, at 90 Milledge Road, in Augusta.

Umpires clinic

A USSSA baseball umpires clinic will be held Jan. 20 at Citizens Park in Aiken from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The clinic is to be conducted by South Carolina USSSA UIC James Smith. Alumni matches

The Lakeside High School soccer program will hold alumni matches at 2 p.m. Sunday at Panther Stadium. Former Lakeside High School men and women soccer players are invited to attend, and any former player from the area. Cost is $25 and includes a T-shirt and catered food from Fatz Cafe.

The proceeds will go to support the Jenny Clark Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Rowing tryouts

The Augusta Junior Rowing Team will conduct spring tryouts on Jan. 8-10 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Augusta Boathouse at 101 Riverfront Drive. Males and females ages 13-18 are invited to participate.
