The Democratic Party of Columbia County will hold its December meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at El Valle Mexican Restaurant, in West Town shopping center in Martinez.

Runoff Tuesday

The General Election runoff will be Tuesday at all county precincts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For information, call the Columbia County Board of Elections office at (706) 868-3355.

LHS Fall Review

The 2006 Lakeside High School Fall Review, with poetry and creative writing by Lakeside students and alumni, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at The Daily Grind, at 4460 Washington Road, Evans.

Accessory party

Evans High School's FCCLA will hold an accessories party to help raise money for the club from 2:45-6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the school's commons area. Purses, scarves, jewelry, and tote and duffel bags will be available for purchase, with monogramming on site.

Holiday shopping

Stevens Creek Elementary School will hold its sixth annual Shopping Extravaganza from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, with more than 25 vendors. For information, call (706) 868-3705.

Holiday concert

The U.S. Army Signal Corps Band's Holiday Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 3500 Walton Way Extension, Augusta. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Tickets are available at Georgia Bank &Trust, Fort Gordon Federal Credit Union, the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce. Red Cross classes

The American Red Cross of Augusta will hold a disaster assessment training course from 6-10 p.m. Tuesday at the chapter office, 1322 Ellis St., in Augusta. For information, call (706) 724-8481.

County tour

The Columbia County Convention and Visitors Bureau will hold its second tour of historical and tourist sites in Columbia County on Thursday, with a focus on Harlem and Grovetown. Christmas hay ride

Sharon Baptist Church's annual Hay Ride Through the Life of Christ will be held from 7-9:30 p.m. starting Thursday and continuing through Dec. 10 at the Merchants Association Columbia County Fairgrounds, on Columbia Road. Movies needed

VFW Post 6445, in Harlem, is seeking donations of new or used DVDs to be sent to soldiers serving overseas. Donations may be brought to the post or to the office of The Columbia County News-Times by Dec. 15. Donations of DVD players and cash also are welcome. Parents Day

Columbia County Advocates for Special Education PTO will sponsor Parents Day Out respite care from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at Evans High School, with games, snacks and entertainment provided. Cost is $4 per hour. For information, call Rose Mary at (706) 860-9222.

Parents night

The Evans High School Dance Team will hold Parents Night Out from 6-10 p.m. Saturday in the commons area.
