Rowing tryouts

The Augusta Junior Rowing Team will conduct spring tryouts Jan. 8-10 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Augusta Boathouse at 101 Riverfront Drive. Teens 13-18 are invited to participate. No experience is necessary. Call (706) 821-2875 or go to www.augustarowingclub.org.

Basketball registration

The CSRA basketball league is holding open registration for boys and girls of all ages. Games will run from March through July. Cheerleading spots are also available for girls of all ages. Call Dustin Leverett at (706) 651-8816.

Tennis tournament

The Junior Tennis League will hold the JTL Fun Tournament on Saturday at Newman Tennis Center in Augusta. The event is free for all registered 2006 JTL players and $20 for non-JTL players.
