Thanksgiving is a time for families. Whether yours is getting together here or far away, send us a photo and we'll publish a selection in an upcoming issue and online.

Parade deadline

Saturday is the deadline for entries for participants in the annual Merchants Association of Columbia County Martinez-Evans Christmas Parade, to be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 in Evans. For information, call (706) 863-7645.

Holiday dinner

City of Life Ministries, at 5220 Wrightsboro Road in Grovetown, will hold its annual Thanksgiving dinner from 2-5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. For information, call (706) 294-0933.

Tree sale

The annual Young Life Christmas tree sale will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Furys Ferry Road and The Pass in Martinez. Trees will be sold from 4-8 p.m. weekdays, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 1-8 p.m. Sundays. For information, call (706) 650-2543.

Early voting

Early voting in the Dec. 5 runoff election will begin Monday and continue through Dec. 1 at the Columbia County Board of Elections office, in the Government Complex at 630 Ronald Reagan Drive. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For information, call (706) 868-3355.

Movies needed

VFW Post 6445, in Harlem, is seeking donations of new or used DVDs to be sent to soldiers serving overseas. Donations may be brought to the post by Dec. 15. Donations of DVD players and cash also are welcome. For information, call (706) 556-9194 or (706) 597-3964.
