Inductee named

Army Sgt. 1st Class Roderick R. Taylor has been inducted into the Sgt. Audie L. Murphy Club, formed in 1986 in honor of the Army's most decorated World War II soldier. Taylor, a counterintelligence agent with 13 years of military service, is assigned at Fort Huachuca, Sierra Vista, Ariz. He is the son of Tony and Pansy Fugghett, of Martinez. His wife, Shonda, is the daughter of Levi Sullivan Sr., of Augusta, and Hattie Sullivan, of Hephzibah.

New assignment

Air Force Airman 1st Class Joshua A. Bearden has arrived for duty at Fort George G. Meade, Laurel, Md. Bearden, a linguist with two years of military service, is assigned to the 22nd Intelligence Squadron. He is the son of Ralph and Rebecca Bearden, of Martinez. The airman is a 1994 graduate of Evans High School.

Training graduates

- Air Force Airman Matthew S. Watts has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

He is the son of Donna Watts, of Grovetown. Watts is a 2005 graduate of Etowah High School, Woodstock, Ga.

- Air Force Airman 1st Class Payton G. Thompson Jr. has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

He is the son of Payton Thompson, of Martinez, and grandson of Jeanne Thompson, of Fairfield, Conn.

Thompson is a 2006 graduate of Evans High School.

- Army Pvt. Edward G. Rabil IV graduated from the Multiple Launch Rocket System Operations/Fire Direction Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

He is the son of Ed G. and Sandra K. Rabil, of Martinez. His wife, Kami, is the daughter of Jim Williams and Tambra Williams, both of Evans. Rabil graduated in 2002 from Evans High School.

- Army Reserve Pfc. Latoya D. Murray has graduated from the Automated Logistical Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at the Army Quartermaster Center and School, Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

Murray is the daughter of Randolph Murray, of Thomson, and Cynthia Murray, of Harlem. The private is a 2004 graduate of Harlem High School.

- Army Reserve Pvt. Erica J. Reid has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

She is the cousin of Teri Oliveri, of Grovetown.

Duty arrival

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Jason L. Balliet has arrived for duty at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City. Balliet is a recruiter assigned to the 349th Recruiting Squadron headquartered at Tinker Air Force Base, but performs recruiting duties at the Air Force recruiting office in Tulsa, Okla. The technical sergeant has served in the military for 14 years. He is the son of Thomas C. Balliet, of Augusta, and is a 1989 graduate of Evans High School. His wife, Tammy, is the daughter of John Smalling, of Midwest City, Okla.

Basic training graduates

- Army Reserve Pvt. Breanna D. Brzozowski has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. She is the daughter of Robert and Marilyn Brzozowski, of Harlem. Brzozowski is a 2005 graduate of Harlem High School.

- Army Pfc. Lauren W. Lee has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. She is the daughter of Anthony Lee, of Augusta, and June Garnett, of Evans. Lee is a 2006 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

- Army Pvt. Felecia R. White has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. She is the sister of Alisha Bell, of Martinez, and niece of Cora White, of Wadley. White is a 2006 graduate of Evans High School.

- Army Pfc. Brian C. Percival has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. He is the son of Kimberly Percival, of Martinez. Percival is a 2006 graduate of Evans High School.
