- James F. Trusley III, director of the Augusta Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, has been selected to receive a Presidential Rank Award for 2006.
- Barbara Blueford, the hospitality coordinator for the Augusta Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, has been named the September Employee of the Month.
- Angela Betts, business manager of Specialty Care Service Line, has been named the October Employee of the Month.
Also, The hospitals have been named a Georgia Progress Award recipient by the Board of Examiners for Georgia Oglethorpe Award Process Inc.
Fort Gordon has announced the following honors:
- Spc. Claudette Gouacide, assigned to the 442nd Signal Battalion as a personnel specialist, is the Servicemember for the Fourth Quarter.
- Sgt. Brian Simmons, assigned to A Co., 447th Signal Battalion, is the Noncommissioned Officer of the Fourth Quarter.
- Staff Sgt. Amy Williams, assigned to Headquarters and A Co., 551st Signal Battalion as an instructor/writer for the Information Systems Operator Analyst Course and the Telecommunications Operator Maintainer Course in the Information Technology Warfighter Division, is Instructor of the Fourth Quarter.
- Spc. KenJuan Logan, assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Co., 202nd Military Intelligence Battalion as a food service specialist in Dining Facility 13, is the Cook of the Fourth Quarter.
- Terence Cleary, the chief of the Administrative and Civil Law Division of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, is the Civilian of the Fourth Quarter.
- Anita Patterson, who has volunteered with the Health Services Auxiliary for two years, is the Volunteer of the Month for July.
- Marti Ragano, whose volunteer commitment began in July 2005, is Volunteer of the Month for August.
- Gail Bulken who has served as the treasurer for the Health Services Auxiliary for 12 years, is Volunteer of the Month for September.
- Army Reserve Pfc. Travis L. Baxter, son of Timothy G. and Sharon R. Baxter, of Blythe, has graduated from basic training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
- Army Staff Sgt. Joseph P. Norris, a 1993 graduate of Hephzibah High School and son of Valerie Dye, of Hephzibah, has been awarded an Army Commendation Medal.
