Basketball registration

The Columbia County Recreation Department is currently holding registration for the 2007 basketball season. Registration will last through Friday for boys ages 6-15 and girls ages 6-12 with an age control date of Jan. 1, 2007. Registration hours at the Patriots Park Administration Office are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Online registration forms are available at www.columbiacountyga.gov.

Baseball clinic

The Augusta Baseball Clinic will take place at Lake Olmstead Stadium on Saturday for students in grades 7-12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Major League Baseball players Tim Drew and Stephen Drew and Cincinnati Reds pitching coach Tom Hume and several Major League Baseball draft picks will be on hand as instructors. Rowing tryouts

The Augusta Junior Rowing Team will conduct spring tryouts from Wednesday to Friday and Jan. 8-10 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Augusta Boathouse at 101 Riverfront Drive.
