Brewton-Parker Dean's List
Emily Elizabeth Durham and Ashley Meyer, both of Evans, were named to Brewton-Parker College's Dean's List for spring 2006 semester.
UGA Dean's List
Matthew R. Erickson, of Martinez, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Erickson, was named to the Dean's List for summer semester 2006 at the University of Georgia. Erickson earned a 4.0 grade-point average, scoring in the top 6 percent in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. He is a 2004 Lakeside High School graduate.
Gregory A. Ryan and Amy A. Udom have been placed on the President's List for summer semester 2006 at Georgia Southwestern State University.
Colin P. Quinn, a sophomore at Butler University, has been awarded the General Leadership Grant from the Signa Chi Foundation. Quinn is one of this year's 46 recipients.
He is the son of Pat and Elaine Quinn, of Evans.
Joseph Barry, of Evans, won first place in the Josephine Mellichamp Award for Nonfiction contest for Confessions of a Picky Eater in the 31st Annual Southeastern Writers Conference. He also won third place in the LeRoy Spruill Award for Short Fiction for Why?
The prizes were presented at the June 22 awards banquet during their conference on St. Simons Island, Ga.
Merritt King, of Evans, a chemistry teacher, was among advanced placement teachers from 23 states and Canada who participated in the 23rd Advanced Placement Summer Institute from June 25-30 at Western Kentucky University.
