New church meets

An information session for Covenant United Methodist Church, a new congregation being formed in Columbia County, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Greenbrier Elementary School. Another session will be held Nov. 12. For information, call the Rev. Randy Monk at (706) 339-7090, or go to www.theumc.org.

Pumpkin patches

The Marvin United Methodist Church annual Pumpkin Patch is being held through Tuesday at the church, on Wheeler Road at Belair Road. For information, call (706) 855-9786.

Fair opening

The Columbia County Merchants Association Fall Fair opens Thursday at the fairgrounds on Columbia Road, and continues through Nov. 11. Call Steve Johnson at (803) 279-8326.

Early voting

Early voting for the Nov. 7 General Election begins Monday at the Columbia County Library in Evans; at Patriots Park; and at Savannah Rapids Pavilion. Voting will be held Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and until 6 p.m. on Friday. For information, call (706) 868-3355.

Open house

Hands Up Outreach Ministries will hold a grand opening and open house at 10 a.m. Wednesday at its newly renovated building, 110 S. Hicks St., in Harlem. Services will be held at 7 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month at Harlem Middle School. The ministry offers free bread, food and toiletries each weekday from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with referrals to other resources available.
