Area teams face tough road trips

Evans and Greenbrier face tough road games this Friday. The Knights travel to offensive power Ware County. Greenbrier is at always-solid Glynn Academy.

Harlem's evening won't be any easier. They must face unbeaten Thomson. So all will obviously have their hands full. All three of their opponents are among the hottest teams in the state.

Evans (3-4) at Ware County (5-2)

Can Evans keep up with Ware's explosive offense? Well, few teams have this year. Ware seems to be scoring 40 or more every week. Evans might slow them down a bit, but the Gators will likely claim the victory.

Greenbrier (3-5) at Glynn Academy (4-3)

Greenbrier has been much better than I thought they would be defensively and seem to be a worthy adversary no matter who they are facing. Well, they have another stern test this week against Glynn Academy. The Pack will need to play flawless football to get a win.

Harlem (2-5) vs. Thomson (7-0)

Battle of the Bulldogs in this one. Unfortunately for Harlem, Thomson's Bulldogs are among the finest teams in Class AAA in the state. They have scored fewer than 35 points only once all season. Thomson is unbeaten and ranked in the Class AAA top five in Georgia. This will be a long night for Harlem.

Lakeside (2-6) at Wayne County (0-7)

Lakeside has a good chance to get their third victory at winless Wayne County. The Panthers have a very young team, so hopefully coach Randy Hill and his youthful squad will have a good night.

Augusta Christian (8-1) at Hammond (9-0)

The Lions have been getting better and better each week. They have a good test for themselves on the road at Hammond. Until they give me a reason not to, I'm picking ACS in any SCISA match up they have.
