Fair opening

The Columbia County Merchants Association Fall Fair will be held Nov. 2-11, at the fairgrounds on Columbia Road. For information, call Steve Johnson at (803) 279-8326.

Vendors needed

Crafters and food vendors are being sought for the annual Fire Fest, to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Evans Town Center Park behind Kroger in Evans. For information, call Kathy Watkins at (706) 860-6166.

Absentee voting

Absentee voting is under way at the Columbia County Board of Elections Office, 630 Ronald Reagan Drive, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Early voting begins Monday. Call (706) 868-3355.

Spooky drive

The annual It's Spooky to Be Hungry food drive will be held in most Columbia County neighborhoods Saturday. The office of The Columbia County News-Times is a drop-off site for nonperishable food and toiletry items, along with donations for Golden Harvest Food Bank. Donations will be accepted through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Pumpkin patch

Wesley United Methodist Church is holding its annual pumpkin patch in front of the church, on North Belair Road, through Tuesday. Proceeds from the pumpkin patch go to missions. For information, call Linda Jolley at (706) 869-0888, or e-mail linda@wesleyumc.net.

Chorale concert

The Augusta Children's Chorale will hold its annual fall concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Sacred Heart Cultural Center, followed by a dessert reception. Tickets cost $10, and are available at the door or by calling (706) 826-4718.

Teen Trivia will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Columbia County Library in Evans. Registration is required. Call (706) 863-1946.
