Special Photos Anna Mills Johnson, 10, of Evans, participated with 800 gymnasts in the AAU National Championship in Rochester, Minn., in June. She won three gold medals, one bronze medal and one copper medal for placing first in bars, first on floor, third on vault and fourth on beam, giving her the age-level AAU National Championship and first all-around. Anna is the daughter of Chris and Robin Johnson and the granddaughter of Jimmy and Patsy Johnson and William and Betty Cox. She is a pupil at Riverside Elementary School.[CAPTION]

George Aaron Patterson, of Evans, has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship for the 2006-07 academic year by the Pennsylvania State University Alumni Association chapter of Aiken and Augusta. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. George E. Patterson, of Evans. This fall, Patterson returns to Penn State as a junior and is attending the College of Communications in pursuit of a degree in sports broadcast journalism. He spent the summer working at the Gordon Lakes Golf Course at Fort Gordon and interning at television station WRDW (Channel 12) in North Augusta. His brother Seth is a sophomore at Greenbrier High School.
