Golf tournament

Monday is the registration deadline for the MCG Kidney Transplant Program Golf Tournament, which will be held Nov. 6 at Jones Creek Golf Club. Sign-in for the captain's choice tournament takes place at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9. Prizes will be awarded, and lunch is provided. A single-player slot costs $150, and a two-man team costs $275. All proceeds will benefit patients who have received kidney transplants at MCG Health System. Softball tryouts

The Georgia Rockers fastpitch organization will hold tryouts for the 16U and 18U travel teams at Patriots Park at noon Nov. 4. For information, call Ike Branch at (706) 860-3886.

Alzheimer's Association holds Thomson tournament

The inaugural Thomson Golf Classic to benefit the Alzheimer's Association will be held Oct. 24 at Belle Meade Country Club. Baseball tournament

Tennis tournament

The 2006 Petersburg Racquet Club Junior Satellite Tennis Tournament will be held Nov. 4-5 at the Petersburg Racquet Club in Martinez. The tournament is a sanctioned Georgia Tennis Association Satellite event, with competition from boys and girls ages 10-18. The deadline for entries is Saturday, Oct. 28.
