About 200 Skeeter owners participated in the inaugural Skeeter Southeast Owners Tournament last weekend launched from Wildwood Park at Thurmond Lake.
Travis Allen, of Four Oaks, N.C., won the big bass tournament, weighing in a 5.74-pound bass to win a new Skeeter SX200 bass boat powered by a Yamaha VZ200 engine, valued at more than $37,000.
Skeeter awarded more than $25,000 in cash to hourly big bass contestants, in addition to second-through 20th-place overall big bass winners. Roy Stuart, of Anderson, S.C., won the Skeeter Bug Shoot Out, along with Skeeter Pro partner Pro Bill Lowen. With his victory, Stuart won an all-expenses-paid fishing trip to Lake Huites, Mexico.
Skeeter also awarded cash prizes in the Classic Division, Junior Division, Ladies Division and Longest Drive.
"This has been a great experience, and we can't wait to return to Clarks Hill next year," said Trey White, the director of marketing for Skeeter Products Inc. "Skeeter already has announced that it will return to Clarks Hill next year and encourages its owners to visit the company's Web site for dates and more information."
