Softball tryouts

MCG tournament

The Food Lion Golf Tournament to benefit the Medical College of Georgia Children's Medical Center will be held Monday at Mount Vintage Golf Club. For information, call (706) 721-4004.

Alzheimer's tourney

The inaugural Thomson Golf Classic to benefit the Alzheimer's Association will be held Oct. 24 at Belle Meade Country Club. Fitness registration

Golf tournament

The Second annual Greg Hodges Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Oct. 30 at Jones Creek Golf Club. The one-day tournament will benefit the Medical College of Georgia and honor the late Greg Hodges, who died of cancer in 2003. The tournament will be a four-man captain's choice format and is limited to the first 36 teams. Club volleyball

An organizational meeting for the CSRA HEAT Volleyball Club will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Boardman Gymnasium at Augusta Prep in Martinez. Girls in 6-12 grades and their parents are encouraged to attend. There is a $50 registration and tryout fee. Tryouts will follow the first two Sundays in November. Traveling baseball
