The Marvin United Methodist Church Clothes Closet, at the church at Wheeler and Belair roads, is open each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations are accepted on the first day of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

New church open

The Sanctuary, a new church pastored by Bryan Cockrell, holds services at 1:30 p.m. each Sunday at Riverside Baptist Church, 4798 Hardy-McManus Road, in Evans. A nursery and children's church are provided. For information, call (706) 650-2737

Safe Sitter class

Safe Kids of East Central Georgia will conduct a Safe Sitter class for 11- to 13-year-olds from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the MCG Children's Medical Center classroom, BT 1805. Cost is $25 and includes lunch. For information, call (706) 721-2457, or go to www.mcghealth.org/kids.

Harlem market

Harlem will hold its first Trash to Treasures Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 4 in the parking lot of Harlem United Methodist Church. Spaces are free, but must be reserved. A "Taste of Harlem" restaurant sampling also will be held. For information, call Kathy Ham at (706) 556-0401.

Parkinson walk
