Kerri King, of Evans, was crowned Augusta Christian Schools' 2006 homecoming queen on Oct. 6.

The senior got her crown during halftime of the Lions' 20-0 victory over Ben Lippen School. The ceremony had a Cinderella theme featuring a dance performance to the song So This Is Love from the Walt Disney animated film.

"It's just a great honor, and I can't even believe it right now," Kerri said. "It's just a blessing (to win)."

Kerri said it was a special evening to share the field with two of her closest friends, seniors Anna Grace Jackson and Casey Brush, who were also competing for homecoming queen.

Kerri is a member of the student council, Beta Club, chorus and the Grace Baptist Church Youth Praise Band. She is the daughter of David and Cynthia King.

Casey, the daughter of Joey and Jamie Brush, is a member of the Augusta Christian girls basketball, softball and track teams. She is a member of Bible Cathedral.

Anna Grace, the daughter of Wayne and Stephanie Jackson, is a member of the Augusta Christian praise team and Spanish Club. She also is a volunteer with children's groups at Faith Community Church.
