4-Hers take honors

Columbia County 4-H members made a good showing at the Southeastern Fair Dairy Show last week, and several more 4-H members will be present at the livestock judging contest this week.

Columbia County's team competing for these prizes includes Al Dempsey, Tom Rogers, Howard Reese and George Marshall.

Training complete

Ross W. Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin M. Powell of Grovetown, graduated from recruit training Sept. 17, 1960, at the Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.

Square dance held

On Friday night, Sept. 30, 1960, at the Central Community Center, the Grovetown Mothers' Club sponsored a square dance.

Mrs. W.W. Bartlett, chairman of the Dance Committee, wishes to thank all the people who helped make the occasion a success.

The center was donated for that night, as well as the music, which was an orchestra and a record player.
