Proposal to remove silt from Bowen Pond would be more expensive

In reading Angie Mathews' letter to the editor in the Oct. 1 News-Times, I noted she is making the same "assumption" about the cost to clear the West Lake pond of silt. The bond referendum correctly states that $1 million would go toward this project. However, the total cost is $4 million!

Can you guess where the remaining $3 million is coming from? You might be able to, but most people have no clue. The $3 million will come out of the ... rain tax fund.
