Tuesday is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 7 general election. Absentee voting is under way at the Columbia County Board of Elections Office, 630 Ronald Reagan Drive, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more information, call (706) 868-3355.
Chamber forum
The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce bimonthly Not Just Coffee breakfast will be held at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Columbia County Board of Education office on Hereford Farm Road in Evans.
The event will feature an education forum including county school Superintendent Tommy Price, Augusta Christian Schools Headmaster Joel Woodcock, Augusta Preparatory Day School Head Jack Hall, and a representative of the CSRA Home School Association.

A free lunch program, Communication: Tips for Alzheimer's Caregivers, will be held at noon Tuesday at the Medical College of Georgia Alumni Center, 919 15th St., Augusta.

Correction
An article in the Oct. 1 edition of The Columbia County News-Times incorrectly stated that William Archer Stulb's sentence for a statutory rape conviction includes the requirement that he register as a sex offender on his release from jail.
