Evans festival Saturday

The Evans Fall Festival will begin on Saturday night at 6 p.m. on the football field.

The carnival will feature a midway with duck pond, fish pond, grab bag, dartboard, bean bag throw and a jail, where anybody can be imprisoned for 10 cents and can pay their way out for 5 cents.

There will also be a gift shop, bake shop, house of horror and a rummage sale. The rummage sale will be run by Sara Dennis, and she will accept used clothes until Friday night. Those that are working the rummage sale should report to their job at 9 a.m.

In addition, Martina Clark will run the usual General Store, which will offer the attraction of a free drawing every hour for people that have purchased during their drawing the previous 60 minutes.

A Hootenanny with an entry fee of 25 cents is also scheduled at the Community Center for kids in grades 7-12. "The Villagers" will provide music.

According to PTA President Betty Pender, the PTA raises about $650 from the event.

Grovetown passes ordinances

The Grovetown city council passed three ordinances during their regular monthly meeting last week. The laws are published in the legal section of this newspaper.

According to the ordinances, trash and garbage may not be burned within the city limits, outdoor privies may not be maintained and dogs must be controlled.

Violation of any of the three ordinances will result in a fine of $100.
