Harlem 21, Aquinas 8
Bulldogs quarterback Brendan Gray didn't complete a single pass Friday against Aquinas. The junior was too busy racking up 91 yards on the ground, including two touchdowns runs.
Not to be outdone, Harlem tailback Barry St. John surpassed 150 yards' rushing in the game and also found the end zone. Despite fumbling seven times that night, the Bulldogs put up 346 rushing yards to move to 1-2 for the season.
Augusta Christian 47, Cross Creek 6
The Battle for the Paddle ended quickly in North Augusta last weekend after the Lions took a 26-6 halftime lead.
Augusta Christian's Tyler Bourdo threw for two touchdowns and Jay Harmon scored twice - once on a 1-yard run and once on a 31-yard interception return to improve the Lions' record to 3-1 overall.
The win gave Augusta Christian its first against a public school team.
Greenbrier 14, Effingham County 41
Greenbrier's defense was no match for an Effingham County squad that has scored more than 40 points in all three games so far this season.
Effingham County threw the ball only twice but totaled 395 yards on the ground, including six rushing touchdowns to claim the top spot in the Region 3-AAAA standings with a 2-0 region record.
Greenbrier's Nick Richards ran for a touchdown and threw for another to give the Wolfpack its only scores .
