Majorette sign-ups

T-ball

Special-needs T-ball for ages 4 to 17 will start Saturday in Martinez. The league is open to children with any kind of disability and their siblings.

Home-school ball

The CSRA Crusaders Home School baseball team and head coach Chileno Valdez are looking for home-schooled middle and high school boys interested in playing baseball this school year. Private-school boys who do not have baseball programs at their schools are also eligible.

In preparation for the season, a six-week camp will be held for elementary and middle school boys starting Thursday.

Softball tryouts

The Evans Dominators 16U girls fastpitch softball team will hold tryouts at 2 p.m. Sunday at Patriots Park. The team is looking for players to fill the fall 2006 and spring/summer 2007 roster.

Baseball tourneys

Atomic City Sports will hold two USSSA baseball tournaments at Citizens Park in Aiken for children age 8 and up. The A-Town ThrowDown USSSA baseball tournament will be Sept. 30 to Oct. 1, and the Georgia-Lina Boo Ball NIT will take place Oct. 27-29.

Golf tournament

The second annual Tony Molini Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Sept. 30 at the Gordon Lakes Golf Course in Fort Gordon. The tournament, sponsored by the Augusta Nuclear Technology Society, requires a $50 registration fee that includes 18 holes of golf and lunch.

Basketball sign-ups

A new basketball league for boys and girls ages 5 to 24 is holding open registration. Games will be played at the Patriots Park gymnasium from March through July.

Golf tournament

The fourth annual Doctors Hospital Boy Scouts Fall Golf Classic will be held at Bartram Trail Golf Club in Grovetown on Sept. 28.. Registration for the tournament, which will be played in the Lauderdale format, starts at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The cost is $385 per four-person team and $100 for individuals.
