Augusta's First Baptist Church will hold a series of discussions about the life and legacy of the late theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who was one of the first voices of resistance to Adolf Hitler. Fair pageant seeks contestants
Contestants are being sought for the 2006 Miss Columbia County Fair Scholarship Pageant to be held Sept. 30 at Evans High School. The pageant, sponsored by the Merchants Association of Columbia County, is for single young women ages 17-24 and includes swimsuit, sportswear, evening gown and interview. The Grovetown Senior Center, 103 W. Robinson Ave., will hold a spaghetti supper from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 15. Plates cost $6 for adults, $3 for children 10-under. A raffle for a king-size handmade quilt also will be held.
