Bonhoeffer seminar

Augusta's First Baptist Church will hold a series of discussions about the life and legacy of the late theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who was one of the first voices of resistance to Adolf Hitler. The event will include discussions, a movie and a dramatic performance, and will be held at 6 p.m. today and 6:30 p.m. Sunday and on Sept. 13, 20 and 24. Judge forum

All four candidates for the Augusta Judicial Circuit judgeship are invited to speak at the monthly meeting of the Greater Columbia County Republican Women, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Khalid's Cafe, in Eagle Pointe Shopping Center on Washington Road, in Evans.

Fair pageant seeks contestants

Contestants are being sought for the 2006 Miss Columbia County Fair Scholarship Pageant to be held Sept. 30 at Evans High School. The pageant, sponsored by the Merchants Association of Columbia County, is for single young women ages 17-24 and includes swimsuit, sportswear, evening gown and interview. Spaghetti supper

The Grovetown Senior Center, 103 W. Robinson Ave., will hold a spaghetti supper from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 15. Plates cost $6 for adults, $3 for children 10-under. A raffle for a king-size handmade quilt also will be held.

GMC yard sale

Benefit concert

Award-winning Elvis tribute artist Jeff Barnes will perform at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 in the Evans High School auditorium in a fund-raiser to help purchase uniforms for Columbia Middle School cheerleaders.
