Safety fair

A public service and safety fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Riverwatch Community Church, 3701 Old Petersburg Road, Martinez, with information and demonstrations from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Martinez-Columbia Fire Rescue, Shepeard Community Blood Center and the American Red Cross. A yard sale and other activities also will be held.

Yard sale

Students at Georgia Military College will hold a yard sale to benefit bladder cancer awareness from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the campus at 115 Davis Road, Martinez. Vendor spaces are available.

Free produce

Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church, 703 Furys Ferry Road, will give away free produce to needy families starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Church revival

The Rev. Melvin Adams, of Harlem's New Holt Baptist Church, will preach the revival at Paynes Baptist Church in Mesena, Ga., at 7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Candidate forum

Candidates for Columbia County school board chairman and Columbia County Commission District 2 have been invited to speak during the monthly meeting of the Democratic Party of Columbia County at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 in the auditorium in Building A of the government complex, in Evans. Spaghetti supper

The Grovetown Senior Center, 103 W. Robinson Ave., will hold a spaghetti supper from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 15. Plates cost $6 for adults, $3 for children 10 and younger. A raffle for a king-size handmade quilt also will be held.

Benefit concert

Award-winning Elvis tribute artist Jeff Barnes will perform at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 in the Evans High School auditorium in a fundraiser to help purchase uniforms for Columbia Middle School cheerleaders.
