Tennis tournament

The 2006 Banana Open Tennis Tournament will be Sept. 7-10 at the Petersburg Racquet Club in Martinez. Players in men's and women's singles, doubles and mixed divisions will compete to qualify for the Banana Open Challenge in Hilton Head Island, S.C., in October. Golf tournament

The Patriot Day Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 11 at Mount Vintage Plantation Golf Club in North Augusta to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Registration and lunch will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at noon. The tournament will follow a shamble format, and a four-player team will cost $1,000. The fourth annual Doctors Hospital Boy Scouts Fall Golf Classic will be held at Bartram Trail Golf Club in Grovetown on Sept. 28.. Registration for the tournament, which will be played in the Lauderdale format, starts at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The cost is $385 per four-member team or $100 for individuals. Door prizes will be given to all golfers, and a silent auction will be open to everyone. Sponsorship opportunities range from $25 to sponsor a cart up to $1,000 for the Corporate Eagle category. Officials wanted

The Columbia County Recreation Department is looking for officials for the soccer and flag football seasons this fall. Meetings for anyone interested will be held at the Patriots Park office complex. Y program

Registration for in-line hockey runs through Tuesday, with the season running Sept. 12 to Oct. 28. Golf tournament

The second annual Tony Molini Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Sept. 30 at the Gordon Lakes Golf Course in Fort Gordon. The tournament is being sponsored by the Augusta Nuclear Technology Society and requires a $50 registration fee that includes 18 holes of golf and lunch. Basketball sign-ups
