Golf tournament
The Patriot Day Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 11 at Mount Vintage Plantation Golf Club in North Augusta. The event will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Registration and lunch will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. The tournament will follow a shamble format, and a four-player team will cost $1,000. Tennis league opens
The CSRA Junior Tennis League is offering registration for the fall tennis season through Sunday. Anyone between the ages of 8-18 is welcome. Charity basketball
The 13th Annual Jawbones vs. Sawbones (lawyers vs. doctors) basketball game, benefiting Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Services, will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Greenbrier High School gym. The event will have food, door prizes and halftime entertainment. For information, call (706) 231-4640.

The Columbia County Stealth, an established U-12 baseball team, is seeking players who are willing to travel and play at a high level of competition. Pitching or catching experience is beneficial. Baseball openings
The CSRA Crusaders home school baseball team and head coach Chileno Valdez are looking for home-schooled middle and high school boys interested in playing baseball to fill middle school, junior varsity and varsity rosters. Any boy attending a private school with no baseball program may also try out. The Crusaders will hold an eight-week baseball camp for elementary-age boys starting in September.
