Rec registration
Saturday is the deadline to register for Columbia County Recreation Department fall sports. Registration is available at Patriots Park daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Registration also is available online at www.columbiacountyga.gov, or call (706) 863-7523.
Tennis league open
The CSRA Junior Tennis League is offering registration for the fall tennis season through Aug. 20. Anyone age 8-18 is welcome. To register, go to www.csratennis.com, and in the menu under "Registration" and "Juniors" click on "Player." The league fee is $20 plus a $2 TennisLink fee. Fastpitch softball

Baseball openings
The CSRA Crusaders home school baseball team and head coach Chileno Valdez are looking for home-schooled middle and high school boys interested in playing baseball to fill middle school, junior varsity and varsity rosters. Any boy attending a private school with no baseball program may also try out. The Crusaders will hold an eight-week baseball camp for elementary-age boys in September. Traveling baseball
The Columbia County Stealth, an established U-12 baseball team, is seeking players who are willing to travel and play at a high level of competition. Pitching or catching experience is beneficial. Golf tournament
The Augusta Spartans Charity Golf Tournament will be held at West Lake Country Club on Monday, Sept. 25. A registration fee includes green fees, golf cart, lunch, gifts and an evening event at the club. Fall recreation
Registration has begun for fall sports at Patriots Park, including football, cheerleading, soccer and baseball. Basketball league
A new basketball league for boys and girls ages 5-24 is holding open registration. Games will be played at Greenbrier High School from Jan. 13 through July. For more information, contact Dustin Leverett at (706) 651-8816.
Ultimate games
The Augusta Ultimate Club is looking for players high school age and older to play pickup games Sundays at 1:30 p.m. at the old soccer field at Riverview Park in North Augusta. For information, go to sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/augusta-ultimate.
Charity basketball
The 13th annual Jawbones vs. Sawbones (lawyers vs. doctors) basketball game, benefiting Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Services, will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Greenbrier High School gym. For information, call (706) 231-4640.
Golf tournament
The Patriot Day Golf Tournament will be Sept. 11 at Mount Vintage Plantation Golf Club in North Augusta to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Registration and lunch will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. The tournament will follow a shamble format, and a four-player team will cost $1,000.
