Saturday is the deadline to register for Columbia County Recreation Depart-ment fall sports. The Patriots Park office is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Registration also is available online at www. columbiacountyga.gov, or call (706) 863-7523.

Exhibit booths

The Columbia County Merchants Association is accepting applications for business exhibit booths for the annual fair, Nov. 2-11, at the fairgrounds. Call George Sleister at (706) 855-9400, or Billy Becton at (706) 863-7645.

Pre-school openings

Garden luncheon

The Columbia County Extension Service Gardening at Lunch program will be held from 12:10-12:45 p.m. today at the Columbia County Library, in Evans, with Extension Agent Charles Phillips discussing lawn management. For information, call (706) 868-3413.

Treat Day

Participating Dairy Queen restaurants will donate the proceeds from all Blizzards served Thursday to the Children's Miracle Network, with local funds going to the MCG Children's Medical Center.

Concert, open house

Contemporary Christan band TAIT will headline an afternoon open house and cookout at Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 N. Belair Road, beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is donation of school supplies for missions.
