Basic training graduates

Army Spec. Joseph P. Ryan has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Ryan is the son of Vickie Ryan of Evans.

Army Pvt. William J. Murray has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky.

He is the son of Michael J. Murray of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Deborah Nutt of Grovetown.

Murray is a 2004 graduate at Mid-State Technical College, Wisconsin Rapids.

Cadet Steven Arthur Baxter of Evans graduated May 6 from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Baxter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Q. Baxter Jr.

Air Force Airman Jon J. Landrum has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Russ and Jenny Landrum, of Martinez. Landrum is a 2003 graduate of Evans High School.
