FCCLA chapter attends meeting

Six Lakeside High School chapter members and their two advisers attended the FCCLA State Leadership meeting at the Atlanta Gwinnett Place Marriott on April 20-23. Three 10th-graders competed in STAR events-Hemi Kondur, Aarthe Murugappan, in applied technology; and Caitee Mace, in Focus on Children. They won gold medals. Hemi and Aarthe finished first and will compete at the FCCLA National Leadership meeting in Nashville, Tenn., in July. Caitee finished second.
Katharine Diehl and Zaheera Lukman, both seniors, served as judges for STAR events. Jackie Cadle, a senior, 2005-06 state president, led the meeting. Sandi Taylor, an adviser, was honored at the closing session with a Georgia FCCLA honorary membership. Mary Burch, adviser, also attended the meeting.
Sioux Falls grad
Melissa R. Jacobs, of Martinez, graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in May. Jacobs graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in management.
