New library hours

The Columbia County Library in Evans is increasing its hours of operation during the remainder of the summer. Until Aug. 3, the library will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and from 2-5 p.m. Sundays.

Gardening at lunch

Extension Agent Charles Phillips will discuss ground covers in the landscape at the Columbia County Extension Service Gardening at Lunch program, from 12:10-12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Columbia County Library, in Evans. For information, call (706) 868-3413.

Democrats meet

Chamber event

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce after-hours networking event, Success Columbia County Style, will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Queensborough National Bank and Trust Co., 421 Furys Ferry Road, Martinez. Grants offered
