Air Force duty assignment received

Air Force Airman Reginald B. Brown has arrived for duty at Whiteman Air Force Base, Knob Noster, Mo. Brown, a services apprentice, is assigned to the 509th Services Squadron. He is the son of Reginald and Robin Brown, of Evans. The airman is a 2005 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

Virginia Military Institute deans' list

Peter J. Borchelt was recently named to the Deans' List for the second semester of the academic year 2005-06. Cadet Borchelt is a rising junior from Evans, majoring in mechanical engineering. Borchelt's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Joel P. Borchelt. To be eligible for the dean's list, a cadet must have a term grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and no grade below C.

SIUC students honored for grades

Christine Renee Shedrick, of Evans, and Robert Walter Kilbride, of Grovetown, both undergraduate students at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale, were honored during Honors Day ceremonies in April for academic excellence. Students must have a grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for all course work.

Citadel Dean's List

James Preston Dixon, of Martinez, whose major is pre-business, was recognized on the Dean's List at The Citadel in the spring. Dixon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Darryll E. Dixon.

Michael Anthony Rivera, of Evans, whose major is criminal justice, was recognized on the dean's list at The Citadel. Rivera is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Enrique Rivera.
