Truett-McConnell College, Cleveland, Ga., recognized Ashley Hope Moffatt, of Martinez, for academic excellence during the spring semester by naming her to the Dean's List.
Evans resident is recognized
Harold L. Shelton Jr., of Evans, has been recognized for outstanding sales achievement by National Companies by reaching the distinguished PD5 level.
Lakeside High FCCLA chapter attends state meeting
Six Lakeside High School chapter members and their two advisers attended the FCCLA State Leadership meeting at the Atlanta Gwinnett Place Marriott on April 20-23. Three of those students competed in STAR Events - Hema Kondur, 10th grade, and Aarthi Murugappan, 10th grade, in Applied Technology, and Caitee Mace, 10th grade, in Focus on Children. All three won gold medals. Hemi and Aarthe finished in first place and will compete at the FCCLA National Leadership Meeting in July. Caitee finished in second place.
Katharine Diehl and Zaheera Lukman, both seniors, served as judges for STAR Events. Jackie Cadle, a senior, 2005-06 FCCLA state president, lead the meeting. Sandi Taylor, an adviser, was honored at the closing session with a Georgia FCCLA honorary membership. Mary Burch, an adviser, also attended the meeting.
Limestone College graduates
DeMargo Donquel Lewis, of Martinez, was recently awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration/management at Limestone College.
Shaun Alexander Brooks, of Martinez, was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration/management at Limestone College.
Holtz Scholarship award winner
Kelly L. Newman, of Martinez, was awarded the Holtz Scholarship at the honors banquet presented by the Tull School of Accounting at the University of Georgia. Kelly was also named a Presidential Scholar for achieving a 4.0 grade point average during the fall semester. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael D. Newman.
