Pageant deadline

Monday is the deadline for applications to the Miss Augusta Board for the Miss Augusta 2007 and Miss Augusta Outstanding Teen pageants to be held Aug. 5 at Augusta State University. E-mail Lynn Huff at maysee@bellsouth.net, or go to www.missaugusta.org.

Patriotic concert

Church of the Holy Comforter will sponsor a concert of patriotic music by the Savannah River Winds at 5 p.m. today at Savannah Rapids Pavilion, 3330 Evans-to-Locks Road, followed by a barbecue dinner. The concert is free; call (706) 210-1133 for tickets to the barbecue.

Prizes for donors

To pre-empt expected shortages in July, Shepeard Community Blood Center is holding drawings for prizes each week. Donors are eligible to win a Canon MiniDV Camcorder July 1-7; a Sony PSP July 8-14; a $250 Visa gift card July 15-21; an XBox 360 July 22-28; and a 60 gb iPod with video July 29-Aug. 5. Baby safety shower

Safe Kids of East Central Georgia and the MCG Children's Medical Center will present a baby safety shower from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 15 in the medical center's main conference center.
