Candidate debate

The Columbia County Republican Party is sponsoring a debate for candidates for county commission chairman at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lakeside High School. Questions for candidates may be sent by e-mail to chairman@columbiacounty republicanparty.org.

Furniture drive

Marvin United Methodist Church, on Wheeler Road at Belair Road, will accept donations of furniture as part of a drive for Augusta Urban Ministries from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. For information, call Augusta Urban Ministries at (706) 722-8195.
