Advanced training graduates

Army Reserve Pvt. Jeremy L. McDaniel has graduated from the Power-Generation Equipment Repairer Advanced Individual Training course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Md. He is the son of Clint and Ginelle Alger, of Grovetown. His wife, Ashley, is the daughter of Jason and Dana Shire, of Grovetown. McDaniel is a 2005 graduate of Evans High School.

Army Reserve Pfc. Jeffrey D. McFarland has graduated from the Ammunition Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala. He is the son of Denise Aldrich, of Evans. McFarland graduated in 2000 from Greenbrier High School.

Electrician course completion

Marine Corps Pvt. Brian M. Boshell, son of Wanda C. and Gregory A. Boshell, of Evans, recently completed the Basic Electrician's Course. Boshell is a 2004 graduate of Greenbrier High School and joined the Marine Corps in May 2005.

Marine promotion

Marine Corps Cpl. Brian R. Bonham, son of Janet E. Adams, of Martinez, and Steven G. Bonham, of Statesboro, Ga., recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, S. C. Bonham was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty. Bonham is a 2001 graduate of Evans High School and joined the Marine Corps in May 2002.

Deployment return

Army Spc. Wesley J. Hintz has returned to Fort Stewart, Ga., after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The soldier is a member of 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division.

Hintz is an administrative specialist and has three years of military service. He is the son of Vernice L. Hintz and grandson of Dimple V. Meadows, of Harlem. His wife, Season, is the daughter of Marilyn Carner, of Harlem. In 1992, the soldier graduated from Harlem High School.

Bronze star recipient

Air Force Lt. Col. Max R. Massey Jr. has been decorated with the Bronze Star Medal for supporting the missions of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa. Lt. Col. Massey is a joint logistics planner assigned to Headquarters U.S. Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Fla. He has served in the military for 20 years. The officer is the son of Max R. and Ilene Massey of Cumby, Texas. His wife, Martha, is the daughter of Carole Specht, of Evans.

Basic military training

Air Force Airman Soyong Ramey has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Ramey is the daughter of Chong Ryan, of Evans, and niece of Oki Arcand, of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Army Reserve Pfc. Latoya D. Murray has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Murray is the daughter of Cynthia Murray, of Harlem. The private is a 2004 graduate of Harlem High School.

Army Pvt. Logan Black has graduated from basic combat military training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Black is the son of Mary Black, of Augusta, and grandson of Samual Hopper, of Martinez.

Army Pvt. Brandon J. Moorehead has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Moorehead is the son of Blair Harvey, of Evans.

Army Pfc. Taisha C. Lockhart has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Lockhart is the daughter of Cindy Horton, of Grovetown. She is a 1998 graduate of Harlem High School.
