Army Pfc. Conner Hamby has returned to Fort Stewart, Ga., after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a member of Task Force 4th, 64th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. The wheeled-vehicle mechanic has a year of military service. He is the son of Barry L. and Deb L. Hamby, of Martinez, and a 2003 graduate of Evans High School.

Air Force Airman Reginald B. Brown has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Among other topics, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs, performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship and field training. Brown is the son of Reginald Brown of Quinn Drive, Evans, and grandson of Marion Brown, of Decatur, Ga.
