Absentee ballots

Columbia County Board of Elections is accepting applications for absentee ballots for the July 18 primary election. For information, call (706) 868-3355.

Voter registration

Columbia County's Board of Elections will hold voter registration drives from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kmart in Martinez, and 6-9 p.m. at the Red, White and Blue Veterans Celebration in Evans. For information and other drive dates, call (706) 868-3355.

Lifeguard training

The American Red Cross of Augusta is holding lifeguard training classes at the Jewish Community Center, 898 Weinberger Way, Evans. Classes will be held from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For information, call (706) 724-8481, ext. 211.
