Lakeside's boys tennis team finished the 2006 season last weekend at the Class AAAA state championship in Stone Mountain, Ga.
The Panthers knocked off Etowah on Friday morning in the state semifinals for a long-awaited rematch with Woodward Academy in the finals. Lakeside lost in a close match to Woodward Friday afternoon by a final score of 3-2.
Despite the loss, senior Jordan Walters and junior Rich Pugh remained undefeated for the season.
