Church yard sale
Christ the King Lutheran Church, at 4232 Evans to Locks Road, Evans, will hold a yard sale from 4-7 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds will benefit missions.
Book fair

Road closure
One lane at a time of Hereford Farm Road between Columbia and Belair roads will be temporarily and intermittently closed for resurfacing each day from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting Monday and continuing through May 3. Because of traffic delays, motorists should use alternate routes during this period.
School performance

Budget hearing
A public hearing to discuss the 2006-07 fiscal year budget for Columbia County will be held at 6 p.m. May 2 at the Government Center Auditorium in Evans.
