Short library hours leave patrons in the cold

The hours at the new library in Columbia County are very poor. Wednesday night, there were four families in the parking lot in disbelief that this huge new library was closed.

The regular operating hours are:

Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The library should be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
