Evans boy tops in soil judging

Forrest Reid, a member of the Evans Future Farmers of America Chapter, was the highest scoring individual in the soil judging contest held on April 3 in Warren County.

For his achievements, Forrest received a U.S. Savings Bond of $25, given by the Supervisors of the Little River Soil Conservation District. His team placed second, after Warren County, and received a cash prize of $15.

Five high schools from three counties that make up the Little River Soil Conservation District compete in the annual contest.

Clary Jr. elected to bank council

E.D. Clary Jr., was elected to the American Bankers' Association Executive Council, a policy-making organization of the Banker's Association.

There are only two such members from the state.

The other member is Edward D. Smith, president of the First National Bank of Atlanta.
