Chamber breakfast
The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Not Just Coffee breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the new Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center at the Columbia County Library on North Belair Road. Reservations are required by Friday. Call Terra Carroll at (706) 860-4735.
Sunrise service
First Baptist Church of Evans and Wesley and Mosaic United Methodist churches will hold an Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. April 16 at the new Columbia County Amphitheater in Evans. Call Carolyn Moore at (706) 877-6468.
Easter egg hunt
Columbia County Community Events and Knology are sponsoring the county's annual Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. Saturday at Patriots Park, with more than 8,000 candy- or toy-filled Easter eggs and photos with the Easter bunny. Admission is free. Call (706) 312-7191.
Hope Soap
Hope Soap, a private, nonprofit agency that collects toiletries and distributes them to area shelters, has collection sites in the community. Donations, particularly of personal-size items from hotels, may be taken to The Columbia County News-Times, in the Publix shopping center on Washington Road, Evans, and Wild Birds Unlimited, West Town Shopping Center, Martinez. Free produce
Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church, at 703 Furys Ferry Road, Evans, will give away produce to needy families at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. For information, call (706) 860-7091.
