Golf car raffle

Augusta State University's Literacy Center is raffling off an electric golf car donated by Club Car. Tickets cost $10. The drawing will held during an open house from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. April 21 at the Literacy Center on Magnolia Drive. For information, call (706) 737-1497.

'Music Man' coming

Meredith Wilson's The Music Man will be performed at 8 p.m. April 28-29 and May 5-6, and at 3 p.m. on May 7 as part of the grand opening of the new Columbia County Library and Performing Arts Center. All seats are reserved. Tickets cost $25 and are available at www.tixonline.com or by calling (803) 278-4849. Senior citizens, students and Columbia County Arts members receive a 10 percent discount.

Golf tourney

The Fatz Cafe's third annual Spring Golf Classic, a fundraiser for the Jenny Clark Memorial Scholarship Fund, will begin with a shotgun start at10 a.m. May 10 at the Bartram Trail Golf Club. There will be unlimited range balls and lunch will be served. Cost is $400 per team or $100 per player, with sponsorships available. For information, call Tom Clark at (706) 650-2421.

Last Chance Dance

The Evans High School graduating classes of 1978-82 are sponsoring a reunion dance, The Last Chance to Dance, on May 6 at the Evans Middle School gymnasium. The dance recognizes the pending demolition of the school and will raise funds to move the school's historic stone pillars and arch.
