Pre-K and kindergarten registration in Columbia County schools continues through Friday.
The lottery-funded Pre-K program registration has already taken place at Bel Air, Westmont, Brookwood and South Columbia elementary schools. Parents in other school zones should contact the school in which their child is zoned, or a nearby preschool offering the program, to find out the date and time for the registration.
Kindergarten registration is being held at all Columbia County elementary schools from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday.
Children should register at the school in which they are zoned.
Zoning information can be located at the Columbia County schools Web site at www.ccboe.net.
Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 to qualify for kindergarten.
For registration, school officials require a certified copy of the child's birth certificate; a Georgia Certificate of Immunization; Georgia Certificate of Eye, Ear and Dental Examination; and proof of residency, which can be confirmed with a current gas, water or electric bill.
