Cricket, racing and volleyball will all be part of this year's Indian Festival, which will be today at Kelley Park.
"We have 600 to 700 Indian families in this area," Vinod Chudgard said.
"This is a time for them to gather together."
The Hindu Temple Society has sponsored the Indian Festival for at least 15 years, said Chudgard; five of those festivals have taken place at Kelley Park.
"Over 100 people attended last year's Indian Festival," said participant Jag Jagnandan.
Indian dishes will be cooked on the premises, Jagnandan said.
"Anyone can participate," Vinod Chudgard said. "You don't have to be Hindu."
The Hindu Temple Society has been in existence in Augusta since 1983. Kartik Subramaniam serves as their president.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude at about 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided between 11 a.m. and noon.
Kelley Park is located on Old Petersburg Road.
