Re the amendment to House Bill 833, which would remove the requirement that some notices be published in legal advertising:
I assume that state Rep. Barry Fleming never took into consideration, when adding to his bill that not all residences of Columbia County have computers. As a matter of fact, he probably did not take into consideration the number of people in the entire state of Georgia, myself included, who do not have computers to find out if there are any bids posted that would affect them.
This appears to me to be a case of legislative discrimination. It just does not seem right. Not all of us have a business where we can have computers, and all of the bells and whistles that go with the system.
Until there are voices other than Fleming's, this law dropping print ads for bids should be suspended.
