Aquinas events

Aquinas High School in Augusta will hold open house from 1-3 p.m. Sunday. All middle school students and parents are invited. For information, call 736-5516. Yard sale fund-raiser

Jones Creek will hold a community yard sale starting at 8 a.m. March 11, with proceeds supporting the swim team. Patrons are asked to park on the odd-numbered side of the street.

Book fair

Greenbrier Elementary School will hold its book fair each day from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the media center, starting Friday through March 3. Family Night will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The public is invited to participate.

Caregiver seminar

The Alzheimer's Association of Augusta will hold a free caregiver seminar from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jud C. Hickey Adult Day Center, 1901 Central Ave. For information, call 731-9060.

Manna Truck

The Golden Harvest Manna Truck will distribute free produce to the needy starting at 9:30 a.m. March 4 at Church of Our Savior, 4227 Columbia Road, Martinez.

Garden seminar

The Columbia County Extension Service monthly Gardening at Lunch seminar will be held from 12:10-12:45 p.m. March 1 at the Columbia County Government Complex Auditorium in Evans. Extension Agent Charles Phillips will discuss lawn care. Call 868-3413.

Tax assistance

AARP Tax-Aide offers free tax preparation and filing for middle- and low-income seniors 60-older. Assistance is available for walk-ins from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bessie Thomas Community Center, 5913 Euchee Creek Drive, Grovetown (556-0308), and from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Morningside Assisted Living, 353 North Belair Road, Evans (228-4709), each Tuesday through April 11. Appointments also are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays until April 13 at Doctors Hospital, 3651 Wheeler Road. To make an appointment, call 651-6716.
