Empty Bowl event

The fifth annual Empty Bowl fundraiser for Golden Harvest Food Bank will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 5 at the Augusta Jewish Community Center, 898 Weinberger Way, Evans, near Riverside Middle School. Tickets cost $15, or $5 for children, and include a buffet from local restaurants and caterers, and pottery from local students and professional artists will be available. Hardy meeting

The first Oliver Hardy Festival meeting for 2006 will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in the community room of the Laurel and Hardy Museum in Harlem. Those interested in volunteering or serving on a committee for the 18th annual festival are asked to attend. For information, call 556-0401.

Scholarships available

The National Federation of Independent Business' Young Entrepreneur Foundation is accepting applications for its fourth annual scholarship program for high-school seniors, the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards. Current high-school seniors may download the PDF application today, or apply online through the scholarship program administrator's Web site. The deadline is March 15.
